Finishing Techniques



Discover some of the basics of finishing a project with an emphasis on sweater considerations. Techniques discussed are applicable to other projects. Topics covered include Considerations before you start your project to make finishing easier (Types and locations of increases and decreases, shoulder shaping and methodology, neck shaping), Blocking, seaming, weaving in ends, bind off methods, and picking up and knitting stitches. 
Homework:  Please knit 2 stockinette squares in worsted (medium) weight yarn on size 8 needles (straight or circular, doesn't matter). Cast on 35-40 stitches and make them 6-8 inches long. Do not bind them off as we will be playing with them.

Requirements: Please bring a crochet hook-medium size (5.5-6.5mm), darning needle, measuring tape, extra needle in the size you knit your homework sample (for 3 needle bind off demo), worsted weight scrap yarn in a color different than your homework sample, note taking materials.
