Basic Toe-Up Socks Using Magic Loop (Advanced Beginner)



Learn the technique of making a sock from the toe-up using magic loop (no double-pointed needles). In this 3-part class, we will be learning Judy's Magic Cast On for a seamless toe, an easy heel with no short rows or picked up stitches, and a stretchy bind off. We will be using a worsted weight wool to make the project go faster and to easily learn new techniques.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Advanced Beginner Must be comfortable knitting and purling. It is helpful if you have completed a few small projects. Experience with increasing and decreasing, and knitting in the round are a plus, but not required.
Materials Included: No
Requirements: Materials: 1-2 skein of worsted weight, superwash wool, preferably in a light to medium color to enable you to see stitches easily. Berroco Ultra Wool, which is machine washable is a good choice. 1 size 4 US circular needle, 32" or 40" long, stitch marker, tape measure, scissors, tapestry needle for sewing in ends. Yarn suggestions: Ultra Wool Worsted, Deluxe Stripes, or Malabrigo Rios
