Learn five different methods for working short rows in your knitting, with demonstrations of each, and finished swatches. We will discuss what short rows are and when one might use them, proceed to swatches and a discussion of the merits of each method, and end with a general overview of considerations when choosing a method or substituting.
How to Read Knitting Charts: September 15: 2-5pm Charts offer a visual depiction of the fabric you are creating with your knitting, and a concise short code of instructions. Knowing how to read and work from charts brings unlimited freedom to your pattern choices, making chart-only patterns accessible, as well as giving you the ability to move between written and charted instructions in a pattern. This class will discuss chart basics, and the chart key, including lace, cable, color work and short rows. Basic understanding of these techniques is required in order to practice swatching.
