Learn the technique of making a sock from the toe-up using magic loop (no double-pointed needles). In this 3-part class, we will be learning Judy's Magic Cast On for a seamless toe, an easy heel with no short rows or picked up stitches, and a stretchy bind off. We will be using a worsted weight wool to make the project go faster and to easily learn new techniques. You will be knitting a thicker sock that would be great to wear around the house or in boots. You will be able to take the techniques you learn to knit other socks out of more traditional sock-weight yarns.
Learn to knit entrelac, a knitting technique that produces a fabric that looks like it has been woven in strips, or a "basketweave" effect. Using a color-coded pattern, you will be learning the basics of entrelac so that you can complete a scarf, worked in one piece with variegated Noro yarn. You will be creating the basketweave effect by knitting a series of sloping "blocks" left and right. You can also learn a technique to knit backwards, a timesaving way to avoid turning your work constantly.
